Joseph Hawk

Joseph Hawk started off as an elementary/middle school teacher before he moved into recruiting. The combination of education and recruiting eventually led him to Drexel University as the Assistant Director of Operations and Program Assessment for one for of the world’s largest career centers and undergraduate cooperative education programs. Joe spent 6 ½ years at the heart of operations and assessment ensuring smooth processes and providing data to strengthen the decision making process. Another aspect of this role was to work with academic departments to bridge the gap between co-op and the classroom. His exploration of program assessment led him to move to the Office of Assessment, Accreditation and Effectiveness as the Director of Operations. In this role, he supports the Vice Provost, in facilitating the assessment of teaching and learning across the campus of Drexel University by working with individual faculty, programs and colleges on the implementation of sound assessment techniques. The other primary functions are to facilitate accreditation across campus and the program review process. Joe is also the co-chair of the Annual Drexel Assessment of Teaching and Learning Conference. He has also been a compliance reviewer for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Joe has presented on the assessment of cooperative education at the Cooperative Education and Internship Association Annual Conferences Annual Conference and the World Association of Cooperative Education Annual Conference. He has also presented at the Annual Drexel Assessment Conference.
