Dr. Brandon Combs is the Director of Assessment for the University of Central Arkansas. He joined UCA in 2016 after having served as the Assistant Director of University Assessment of the University of Kentucky. Prior to working with the Office of Kentucky, he served as a Law Enforcement Training Instructor for the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Department of Criminal Justice Training, the state's police academy. In this role he worked on the Curriculum Development Taskforce, who worked towards rewriting the academy's curriculum. Prior to that, he served more than six years as the Communications Supervisor for the UK Police Department. Brandon completed his doctorate in Educational Technology Leadership with emphasis in Instructional Design. He also received a Master of Science degree in Safety, Security, and Emergency Management from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Master of Arts degree in Education Technology from Morehead State University. Brandon's research interests include backchanneling, classroom and instructional design, law enforcement training, distance learning/education, policy analysis, and criminal justice education requirements. He has been actively involved in various professional and advocacy organizations, including: the Association for Educational Communications and Technology [Professional Ethics Committee], the Kentucky Equality Federation [Chairman of the Board, past], and the Southern Brigade of Kentucky Colonels [Chairman of the Board, past].
