Interprofessional Practice and Education (IPE) has risen to prominence for assessment professionals working in health profession schools. IPE is defined as two or more health profession students learning or practicing together. Educational offerings, learning outcomes, and respective measures for classroom and clinical settings have proliferated within IPE, but further review to assure students and programs are achieving objectives is needed. This session will present a case study focusing on how the Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus used data to identify a need to develop a co-curricular program to introduce IPE to health profession students early in their learning. The presenters will describe the educational offerings and objectives of the program, the reflective assessment approach taken to assess student learning, and report how the resulting data was used to make programmatic improvements in the IPE curriculum. Assessment professionals currently grappling with developing an assessment program for IPE will benefit from this session as it provides a practical assessment approach to a challenging domain. In addition to a presentation, audience members will be actively engaged in the session through discussion and think-pair-share opportunities.
