Angela Paprocki

The University of Toledo
Assistant Provost for Instructional Strategies
Toledo, Ohio Area
Dr. Paprocki has worked in higher education for nearly 20 years, first serving as an adjunct faculty member for a small institution in Indiana where she went on to serve as the Academic Dean/Chief Academic Officer. She joined the University of Toledo in 2006, and since that time has held various progressive leadership positions that span both academic and student affairs. Currently, Paprocki serves as the Assistant Provost for Instructional Strategies and has oversight of the University Teaching Center. In this capacity, she is responsible for providing professional development activities designed to cultivate a deep understanding of active learning and student engagement. Paprocki also provides leadership and support to faculty adopting new pedagogical models that integrate active learning strategies and educational technologies in an effort to define the intersection between teaching and learning among multi-generational learners. She continues to utilize her compliance expertise to assist faculty with assessment, curriculum design and state and federal requirements. Her work with faculty on course design focuses on backward design principles. Paprocki believes a great course begins with the end in mind - what do you want your students to know -or be able to do- as a result of your course? She is passionate about advancing teaching and learning to improve student outcomes/success, subscribes to cradle to career educational pathways, and believes the appropriate mix of disruption and innovation are essential for moving education forward without leaving students behind. Paprocki holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, a Master of Education, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration.
